New rules for Premier League next season 16:36 - Jun 15 with 1087 viewsNorthLondonBlue2

Interesting changes re handball, throw-ins and VAR.

Most striking appears to be that, if the ref is intending to issue a red card, the other team can take the free kick without waiting for the card to be produced. Not only that, if they do, the red becomes yellow.

Sure to create lots of talking points:

Typical Sky describing this as "Premier League rules".

Other than VAR the rest applies to all levels of the game.

The change in handball rule is going to cause chaos next season. What is an unnatural position? It is still subjective and not any clearer than the previous rule. We are just going to see more dubious penalties given.
