Soccer Aid 20:16 - Jun 16 with 3255 viewschristiand

Appreciate it’s all for a good cause, but I just can’t bring myself to watch. The same old celebrities swanning about thinking they’re professional footballers, Piers Morgan his usual pompous self and the smug Suzanna Reid on the touchline, makes for cringe viewing. GMB will no doubt be full of a load of BS in the morning. Just not much interest for me, but thankfully the U21 game between Italy and Spain is half decent!!

The commentary is currently making me want to watch the Antiques Roadshow.

It isn't compulsory to watch, much like the majority of programmes

No appreciate that, that’s why I’m watching something else, but thanks for the heads up! 👍

Well I can't be doing with all that cynicism, and am really enjoying it - as are hundreds of thousands of other people apparently, both at Stamford Bridge - which is sold out - and live on TV. Featuring Bolt (who's just scored) v Mo Farah (who's previously made a couple of last ditch fantastic saves); Didier Drogbah v. John Terry etc. And it's all got people donating towards clean water, medication etc for kids world-wide - over £800K I believe atm, & the UK Govt. will then match the final sum raised.

Poll: Why can't/don't we protest like the French do? 🤔

Only if you're restricting your opinion to those who've bothered to actually post on TWTD, which does not = the wider world, obviously. Not that it matters one jot anyway.

Randomly enough the OP was from a poster who chose not to watch it. No idea why he bothered posting about it.

I might have misheard from room next door, but it sounded like the sum raised has now rocketed to over £2m.

Conincidentally, I logged into Betfair last night and saw that they were taking bets on the match. A charity match. That just seems wrong to me.

Saw second half and it was better than most pre season games. Was funny watching john terry getting beat by an amature for the equalizer.
