This time the technology has been developed.
There are some IT companies that have spent money on developing Age-verification software. The UK would have been the only ones selling it and could have sold it world-wide if other countries adopted similar policies.
They should have concentrated on the magical unicorn software that replaces the Irish border but that might also prove to be a waste of time.

Age Verification software has been developed by one of the porn companies I believe. having loads of people's details and porn preferences in one big database definitely doesn't present a big hacking risk.
