Perhaps two if Bart does leave. Otherwise another striker and that’s it - Donacien to cover left back as well as right with Ndaba as fourth centre back. I don’t think the squad is good enough as it stands either, especially in defence.

I've always said judge windows at the end but I will be extremely disappointed if we only sign one more. It's not about signing players for the sake of it. It's about having adequate quality and cover. If we only sign one more I think ST have been duped yet again as they made it sound like we'd have a real crack.
Again, I will wait and see. Maybe Maybe will tell us certain youth players have stepped up and he doesn't want to sign anyone else. I'd be fine with that but i'll be gutted if we go in with him saying we could do with more but we'll give it a crack with what we've got. |  |

Checking my "transfer bingo" card from the earlier thread I'm sure that, together, the posters achieved a full house of management-speak cliches that translate as "I'm here talking to you lot, but any real club business will be going on regardless and will not be publicly acknowledged till it has to be".
I don't think that P.L. divulged any real intent regarding the number or position of any incomers. Last time round he said we shouldn't have too many loans because it bred confusion and discontent, yet they still mounted up. | |

People are just responding to a hypothetical scenario that we might only sign one more. I doubt that will be the case. We're not going to be telling players, agents and clubs we're looking to spend the recent 'windfalls'. | |

I imagine they'll be a lot more activity, the usual loans nearer the end of the window for example.
Need: a left back, striker, centre half, and keeper obviously if Bart goes.

I agree Nsiala may well be first choice. I really hope he settles down from last season and is a revelation. I can see Woolfendon starting alongside him and not looking back. Chambers could be a rotation/cover option on that basis. He might even be right back or play in a back 3. I guess PL will try things in pre-season and it will become clearer as the season approaches. |  |
