I know many on here see this as below them, however, a night game away to Colchester we'd take a shed load of fans up there, wouldn't we?
and vice versa, if it was a game game, they would bring a load here too

Technically, Colchester is "down there", but yes, I'd go to an away game against them.

I remember the two competitive games that first year Colchester were in the Championship being crackers.

Attendances in the checkatrade have been very low in last couple of seasons, often hundred rather than thousands, especially if clubs play their fringe players, which is quite common.

indeed. Although it was different, simpler time back then. Pre-internet and football was just a thing to be enjoyed rather than analysed to death.

I count you right, the place was absolutely rocking. My great-granddad was a diehard Col U fan, I always told him that we'd never have to worry about being on opposite sides - until that day!

I had a season ticket in the lower Bobby that year. Home Championship 'derby' games against Norwich, Colchester, Peterborough and Southend.

When Colchester went up to Carrow Road, the Colchester fans were all signing to the Norwich fans "we hate Ipswich more than you!" Gotta laugh hey.

Must admit they were noiser than the Norwich fans at kick off and for most of the game. The lower Bobby carried on as normal signing the usual mix of songs until about 30 minutes in when all of a sudden someone piped up with "you mean f**k all to us, you mean f**k all to us", and I thought yep, that sums it up.

If this was in a proper cup it would be good.

Its in this EFL cup where I'm sure if it was allowed both teams would play reserve teams. Haven't you got to play 5 of your last league game team or something?

Point Of Order. It is the EFL Trophy the EFL Cup is currently masquerading as the Carabao Cup.

It will be at best our 49th most important game of the season after at least 46 League games,at least one F.A. Cup tie and at least one League Cup tie.
Not sure if that means I think that it is below me but I certainly think it is pretty unimportant.

Would go to Wembley for the final and that's it .... if that makes me a glory hunter then so be it .... life is too short.

But that said, you'd go to a friendly in Scotland were we to play one up there, wouldn't you?

I don't think of the cup being below us or any senior team who are eligible to join, but I have a huge issue with U23 teams being part of it. I loved the old JPT competition format.

Totally agree and for that reason I will be joining the B team boycott. Unless we get to Wembley, principles out the window for a day out with the boy.

We are away to Luton in the EFL Cup. Do you mean the Trophy?

Anyone remember playing at Carrow road in the Members Cup and they decided it didn't need to be all ticket. Many fans were turned away that night.
