If it was a Saturday game and I was umpiring, there’s absolutely no way I’d have given that out. On account of the height really. It’s hit him way above the knee roll.
I know it was clipping and just about hit him in line, but you have to give the batsman the benefit of the doubt in those scenarios really.

If the technology is far more accurate than the umpire, then maybe they should change the rules and allow the umpire to go upstairs when they think it’s out. Let the technology decide. Clipping the stumps is out in my book. How often do the bowling team review when there’s a Not Out LBW and it’s clipping the stumps and it remains Not Out.

It's predictive software so it can't ever be totally conclusive. It is right that it stays as umpires call where the impact is marginal as it's not an 'obviously wrong' decision. The borderline nature of LBW calls is why teams no longer lose a review for them where it is deemed a correct decision on umpire's call. |  |
