TV shows that ended too soon... 19:29 - Jul 12 with 8947 views

Just watched firefly on the telly box again and it bought back all the old feelings of shows inexplicably ending short. (seems Joss Wheldon and TV channels have a history)

We just started watching Whitechapel again which is another ending too abruptly.

Any telly shows you wish has one last season or special to tie up the loose ends?

British telly makers are great at killing something appropriately. You may only get eight, ten programmes but they're all good. US tv execs will string anything out so long as it's doing ratings, see Lost as a prime example.

I’d love to see that come back for half a dozen episodes just to see how the characters are all getting on.

I know Joey ended up getting a full time presenting gig on a foreign car show and Rachel got wound up doing a few bad netflix films, one with Adam Sandler.

Fawlty Towers Father Ted

I think Fawlty Towers was so good that overdoing it would have taken the edge off it.
It was comedy genius but the twelve episodes in two lots of six four years apart was about right.

That show produced some of the very best moments of TV comedy.

If they had done a third series then maybe there would have been thoughts about a fourth and so on....
