Lack of class from Man City? Unable to congratulate the bloke or simply not comment on a bloke who never played for them retiring.
Just very odd. Not even sure there’s actually a background to this. Like anyone who have a genuine issue with Crouch? Presumably someone thought it was funny that he scored an own goal for City and that it would be hilarious to make people think they were going to show a goal against City.

When Wilnis retired, Bryan Gunn sent him a signed Norwich shirt with his name/number on it. Given the history between Wilnis and Norwich, even he saw the funny side and it was a nice gesture.
