His dad was one of my footballing heroes...a typical non-league midfield clogger...

He was fantastic. A highlight being when he picked up a Chertsey player who had fouled him and threw him into the Chertsey dugout sending the manager and coach flying - he didn't wait for the red card, but offered to 'meet' the rest of the Chelsea team outside after the game.

Well, for the price of Lewis Dunk you could probably get 2x Ipswich Towns!

it is amazing. As is 80million for Harry Maguire. Decent no-nonsense defender but facking hell? Terry Butcher would go for 250million at these prices.

It will be interesting to see how the inflated transfer fees and wages translates to bottom line profit / loss at the end of this / next season.

The Prem clubs will prob be able to wash their faces, but its got to be bad news for everyone else.

Absurd.

Yes, but Leicester are recycling half of the equally absurd £80m they are receiving for Maguire, a capable defender but surely not outstanding. Makes Adam Webster look a bargain - you can see how this inflation trickles down.

Proven Premier League player, people will start to get used to these fees soon - why it's so important to get back into the Championship and try and compete at the top end and develop players.

Had Evans allowed Mick to reinvest things like the Mings money then we may have picked up players that could have been worth lots like we did Adam Webster. But you can't keep scraping the barrell hoping to find a lucky penny

He helped the Saints finish second in the league too. Under-estimated and under-valued by many but a tremendous ambassador for club and country.

Yes strange that the best English fullback at the time should be valued so low.
I would not agree many of those valuations in that post anyway based on those players abilities in 1981.

20m for Trippier seems a good shout by Atletico though:
