Oh my friend, this isn't even about money in my comment. Trusting the day to day management of the club with Clegg and then marginally better but still poor Milne is high up on my "Not that good" scale.

Seems to stick up for Ashley a lot which grinds my gears if I am to borrow a phrase from Peter Griffin of Family Guy.

ME's problems have nothing to do with money. It comes down to consistently not making the right decisions. All the money in the world couldn't help that (put Jewell in charge of Liverpool and see how long their rise continues for). Edit - I'm probably not right when I say it's nothing to do with money. Money's an issue, but screwin things up is a bigger one. [Post edited 21 Jul 2019 19:07]

I'm sorry, but this is rubbish, there are lots of excellent chairman out there. The Norwich people and Tony Bloom at Brighton spring to mind. They may not be billionaires but they invest in a long term plan. From what I remember reading Tony Bloom is not asking for any interest and will only begin to repay himself once Brighton are in the Prem for consecutive years, by which point him taking back even £5 mill a season would be pennies Edit: direct at OP [Post edited 21 Jul 2019 20:30]

Has to be said, that those lot up the road do get a lot of things right off the pitch, even when they face adversity. They employ the right people to drive those decisions, which helps hugely and they all appear (from the outside) to buy into the concept. It's very frustrating to see, but as you say they have a clear plan and stick to it. Our approach changes season on season and we wonder why there is such a difference between the two clubs currently? [Post edited 22 Jul 2019 7:20]

Bloom & Jordan were both fans of the clubs which they bought, unlike Evans, so they would have had an emotional attachment. Evans bought Town largely as an investment and it's turned out to be a dud so it's now an expensive rich man's toy so he is trying to minimise losses until he puts it up on eBay.
