He was impressive in the Col U game. Not for his saves (he didn’t have much to do in that respect), but his footwork and kicking. I think he should start the season as he enables us to play out from the back and seems a calming presence at the back.

Did he command his area , and claim balls into the box? Apart from his poor distribution that was a weakness in Bart.

Yes. Yes he did.

I would definitely like to see him start the season as our first choice keeper.

Wasn’t particularly tested with shots on Friday, but everything else was very good.

So refreshing to see an Ipswich keeper claim balls from corners.

Poll: Most pointless?

Yes he did. There were a few high balls that he came for and caught easily (as you would hope with him being 6’9”!). He seemed to be directing the play out from defence, pointing to the defenders and dictating were to play the ball. This can only be a good thing when it comes to the defence having trust in their goalie. It also helped us play a passing game rather than balls being aimlessly lumped up field all the time.

Mr Lambert didn't enjoy his more fancy footwork, given the expletives after Holy did Nouble both times.

Up until Bart making yet another unforced error in Germany thought he was the obvious 1st choice, but lord knows what happened at the WC because he has come back an inferior keeper, pity we did not get the dosh, Holy first choice for me

I hope he starts too. He was brought in on the assumption Bart would be gone.

And I don’t think Bart has done anything in pre-season to show last season is behind him yet.

Plus, I think he’ll still be off just before the window shuts in a couple of weeks for PL and Champ clubs

Bart suited us more under McCarthy where he didn’t need to use his feet and was there to make fantastic saves which he’s very good at.

In league one I think whoever plays in goal will have less shot stopping to do and more aerial duals and playing out which Holy would be better suited for.

Because I was two rows behind the Town bench.

That OK?

Have to say I was disappointed to see that Bart's kicking was still very iffy when watching the highlights of the games in Germany.

I was shot down for suggesting Holy starts literally a couple of weeks ago.

A goalie who let in 72 goals for a mid table team last year doesn't look great. However, playing for us might be completely different and suit his skills.

I'm going to deserve judgement until I actually see him play. As people say. He might be better suited to our style than Bart.

Not much, tbh.

Nash didn't know what league Col U were in, let alone where they finished last season.
Col U will struggle with their defence; huge onus on Eastman to hold it together.
Norwood will score if we get him service; fans have already got their hero for this season
