Judge wants out 21:53 - Jul 23 with 11649 viewsMullet

Can't blame him I guess, but it stings a bit. I don't deny his potential but he didn't do enough last season and we took the gamble on him when others wouldn't.

We'll now let him go and look to replace him with a free.

Maybe he shouldn’t have signed a contract with us then? It was pretty obvious where we were heading when he agreed to it.

The club sold season tickets based on signing Judge up. Sadly, Evans won’t free up any funds. We really are in trouble.

Or at least not have agreed to the option that meant it was extended into this year.

At the end of the day, QPR will have to pay what we value him as or he will stay.

I suspect we've made it clear what we want and QPR are checking behind Arry's old filing cabinet tomorrow before sorting it.

Didn't do enough last season? He was our best player from January onward.

If you say so.

That says more about us as a team, and certain sections of our fanbase given he managed 1 assist and 0 goals.

International prospects might also be a factor, especially with expanded Euros.

I did consider that, and am gleefully surprised no one has blamed Mick yet either in some convoluted and batsh1t way.

To be honest Judge was not that brilliant last season. He showed his potential at times and will be a loss to the squad but what do you do with an unsettled player. Just hope we don't sell him for peanuts - he is under contract here so place at least a million pound fee or even more on his head as that will put QPR off I'm sure with their limited resources. He has used Ipswich Town as a stepping stone to revive his career and this is how he repays us.

By signing that contract, he's assured ITFC a decent payout if he does go. Perhaps he wanted to leave us with something?

Thinking exactly the same. It’s the modern Ipswich Town way though, just an embarrassing watch!!

By getting us - at least a fair chunk of - a million quid for a free transfer? Even if that doesn't go into the transfer kitty (might pay for a decent young Prem loan), all helps to keep the club afloat.

Yes.

A few hundred thousand pounds rather than nothing.

Sounds OK to me.

Sure, he provided some exciting moments towards the end of the worst season in (my) ITFC living history but I still found him to be selfish/lazy more than a handful of times (every game, pretty much).

If him going means Dozzell will stay knowing he’ll have more game time, then it’s all good with me.

I'm not sure if Lambert would sound so annoyed in his comments if him signing a contract was to give us something if he left in the summer. To me there's a real undertone to what he's saying.

Yes, but let’s be honest Dozzell will be gone probably over next couple of weeks, so not holding my breath. One thing that is good is that it trims down the options in our congested midfield!
