They have until 5pm today otherwise weekend matches will be postponed. Would that get them a fine or points deduction ?

I don't see how Bolton can make it.

They shouldnt be worried about a fine or points deduction, they should be worried about their existence!!

Bolton should have been kicked out of the EFL last season for failing to fulfil their fixtures. Sad, but all it has led to is more disruption this season.

Seems like Bury are in a worse state.

Bolton at least have someone attempting to take them over, although it seems to be taking an incredibly long time.

Very sad state of affairs, but will be interesting to see what happens

Presumably this means a -3 deduction for each fixture they fail to complete.

Presumably their opponents will also get awarded a win. Could be very controversial if they end up being awarded a 3-0 win but then Bolton start playing a youth team and losing 6-0.

Could make a mockery of the whole season if a team gets promoted due to awarded points or even goals.

Even more so if it’s because of a score against a kids team.

Would they though? At the moment they are just talking postponements.

At somepoint though you cant keep postponing.

Postponing a match happens when you have a frozen pitch, three international players, a bereavement of a key employee at the eleventh hour or the local transport system is screwed.

Failing to field a team is a completely different matter. Wasn't it Spurs who missed out on the CL places with a 2-1 defeat to West Ham due to Lasagna-gate when 12 players were all ill? Even then they weren't allowed to call off the game.

The EFL classes it as misconduct I am sure. Same as not being able to get a safety certificate, which is what they got done for last season.

It has to be a factor outside the clubs control. Failing to pay players and having none of them wanting to play for you was completely in their control.

Who was the player who went from Bury to Bolton?

I wonder how he is feeling now.

He sounds like trouble, we better not be looking at him

The powers that be at the EFL will not want these teams to fold, as it would just cause a massive logistical issue for the rest of the league. how would they suggest the teams that enter in place ? it would just be domino effect which i expect not to happen, especially a week before the season starts

any game postponement would hopefully be played at a later date - no extra points or anything like that

hopefully - the league will give them as much help as they can.

If he had come here he would be picking up a wage and be football now.

Well, I suppose, if he had gone anywhere other than Bolton that would be true.
