I thought that, with the huge uplift in TV money, most Premier League clubs were now making money? The problems are naturally in the 2nd tier, especially when the parachute payments run out. It then depends what the owner wants to do e.g. Ellis Short at Sunderland simply wrote off most of his investment in the club. It's external debt that brings clubs to their knees. |  |

Very true, and I can see why Evans is not willing to be chucking money into the black hole that professional football ownership now is.
The powers that be , that run football at all levels have a lot to answer for, selling off the game to the likes of sky tv. The grass roots (anything below the falsehood that PL is) is not getting a fair deal in this sell off. If sky money is not filtered down , the game will die.
The game has come a long long way since the late 1960’s when I started watching Town, and it’s not for the better either. | |
