Taking my son for the first time.. 12:41 - Aug 12 with 952 viewsBobby

Hi All,

I'm thinking about taking my 5 year old son to a game soon. In peoples experience is that too young or will he be alright? just worried he will lose interest.

I'm hoping in this league the atmosphere will be better and we might even score / win....

Thanks!

I was 5 when my dad first took me then had a season ticket when I was 7, if he has football around him like your family, tv etc i'm sure he will enjoy himself!

He has to get used to disappointment early. Start 'em young, say I.

Go for it! He'll be bore witless, but at least you'll be brainwashing him as any good dad should.

I took my first born when he was 5.
Obviously he didn't spend all game watching the match and at times was distracted but he loved the colour and noise.
Good time to start.
They really get it about 8/9 years old.
