Next 4 games points return? 09:13 - Aug 15 with 1917 viewsN2_Blue

So putting the disappointment of Tuesday behind us (performance more than result) what do we feel is an acceptable points return for the next 4 league games?

With 2 of these at home and one of the away games v Bolton personally I feel anything less than 8 or 9 points would be a poor return if we want to challenge the automatic promotion places.
Peterboro will be tricky and we could no doubt lose but the other 3 really should be amongst the most winnable games in this league.

A real opportunity to get the winning momentum we've not had for years. If we can't string a few wins together in the next few fixtures it could be come demoralizing for players and supporters alike.

Stuff it, I'm going to say 4 wins on the bounce.

Every match will be tricky for us. If we have any chance of promotion, we should win 3 out of 4 of these.
On paper, September looks easier - however we play Rochdale for the first ever time in a senior fixture, so we know which way that will go.

Peterborough - Draw
Wimbledon - Win
Bolton - Win
Shrewsbury - Draw

I'd take 8 minimum for now

At least 7 points, would be hoping for 9/10 though

Minimum of 9, we need to win the 3 games following Peterborough. We should be beating Posh as well but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. Don't want to lose this early on especially after being robbed of 2 points last week, but regardless need 3 wins on the bounce starting against Wimbledon.

For the season as a whole, 2 points per game average would probably get you promoted automatically, 1.5 per game into the play offs.

So for these games, win the 2 at home and one of the away ones, and we could afford to lose the other, but I wouldn’t want to lose at Peterborough because momentum is so important, so 8 would be good

If we aren't scoring more than 2 past Bolton we have big, big issues.

yes i feel 8 in the minimum which would be staying unbeaten. However if we lose to Pboro (which unfortunately I think we will do) then really hope we can win 3 on the bounce, which really should be possible.

That would leave us 12 or 13pts from first 6 games which is bang on for the 2pts per game that is usually the mark of auto promotion.

But most importantly we'd have a bit of momentum and confidence at a time some players may be coming back as well.

Wait until they put more than two past us and see how you feel

I get your sentiment but scoring isn't our greatest attribute to be fair and hasn't been for seasons

I could see Lambert making a few changes tbh. Obviously not to the scale of Tuesday but 3 or 4 potentially.

Peterborough 1 Ipswich 1
Ipswich 2 Wimbledon 0
Bolton 0 Ipswich 2
Ipswich 2 Shrewsbury 0

10 points is what we need to give us 14/18. That will be a great start in my opinion
