Looking for something aesthetically pleasing, something that is stylish to wear. Something like a Rolex (but not a Rolex, I definitely cannot afford that). Want it to be analogue, so not something like an Iwatch.
Money wise, I am happy to pay a decent amount if it is worth it. I know that it is a pretty poor description but if anyone could help with possible brands and makes that would be much appreciated. [Post edited 15 Aug 2019 16:47]

Tudor, underneath is basically a Rolex. Owned by Rolex and made using multiple parts from a Rollie.
Can probably find a good one second hand for 1.5k. Bit of a steal considering whats under the bonnet.

I have an Omega Seamaster that my parents bought me for my 21st.
Great watch, and as you say, more understated than a Rolex.

I was in a similar position a few years ago. I wanted a Breitling Pilot or Superocean. I ended up with a Baume et Mercier which is fine, just not what I wanted. Now I am older and wiser and have had a few watches from Argos that cost £10 and keep excellent time I councsel you to consider some of the excellent fakes you can get at a fraction of the cost... in particular Adenaurs Piguet. (which I also have and am very happy with) | |

What's understated? Some think a Audemars Piguet 1159 is lol! Madness
I've got a few Omegas, sadly just inherited one (not the best way to aquire) they are nice, not as showy as a Rolex, but don't hold their value quite as well either.
Budget will always dictate where you can go though...any ideas on how much?
I'm still after a Tag Monaco, went to trade in on Omega against one a few months back but couldn't bring myself to take a hit of £1000 on the Omega! |  | | |

A Tag Monaco 24 Calibre 36 is a great buy, steadily going up in value and a very smart looking watch. I bought one last year and they're probably a grand or so above where they were then.
Rolex is the right watch if you don't want to lose any money, Breitling are good as their range is big enough that they'll usually have something for everyone. You can also get up to 15% off a new Breilting. I bought my B20 superocean heritage 44 chrono from a jewellers with a discount and looked at selling it earlier this year and was offered almost what I'd originally paid for it. |  |

Whatever you buy, make sure you love the watch, don’t settle for anything else, or you will regret it Once you have that you can buy for other reasons.
As others have said a Rolex hold (at worst) their value, but the right one and it’ll increase. Mine have put on an average of 30% in the last 2 years. Neither omega nor Breitling do that, fir most models. Others have recommended Christopher Ward, I have 2 and they are great for everyday wear, look good and take styling cues from Rolex if that’s your thing. Ditto Tudor, but more expensive.
Personally, if you want a Rolex, I’d wait until you can afford one. |  | | |
