Jackson and Nsiala songs 16:08 - Aug 19 with 3784 viewsmarkbrennansghost

Was at the game Saturday and heard a couple of songs about Jackson and Nsiala being sung. Both songs made reference to a certain part of their body! The majority of people laughed when they heard it. I remember a similar song about Lukaku being sung by United fans which got condemned as racist as it was reinforcing a racial stereotype.
I realise that there are a lot worse names to be called and there are a lot worse things to be levelled at someone, but with the chants at Luton as well, is this a slightly worrying trend?

I haven’t made my mind up if this is just banter or a little bit racist.

What does anyone else think!

Considering Nsiala wasn't even playing seemed bizarre that some were even singing his name.

The Toto song was sung ad-nauseum on the train back. Didn't hear any reference to that part of the body.

FWIW Nsiala posted fans signing this on his Instagram story so I'm sure he's massively offended.

Sounds like you've answered your own question, reinforcing a racial stereotype. We're not exactly the most racially diverse fanbase, think I can count on one hand the number of times in the last 20 years I've seen a fan in an Ipswich shirt who wasn't white.

Most of our predominantly white middle class fans who hardly ever set foot outside Suffolk probably won't consider this racist however.

Just remember when the Lukaku song was about there was a massive debate on talkSPORT and they hammered it for being racist. If Toto likes it .......

If you’re on about the one that got in at approx 11:30, then it absolutely did...

Their drunken caterwauling wasnt very clear, I thought they were singing 'his gut's fecking massive', but now you mention it that doesnt make so much sense.

"predominantly white middle class fans who hardly ever set foot outside Suffolk " that describes about two people, unless your definition of middle class is fairly lax I reckon.

Genuine question, what if this was sung about Wolfy? I would argue its difficult to argue why people think he's well endowed, maybe the person who started the song can verify, they may well know something that we don't. I think re. The Lukaku incident he was asked to condemn it but we have no idea whether he was actually offended.

I only heard it on the train on the way. Maybe it hasn’t had a proper outing yet!

It doesn’t fit the tune properly, it doesn’t make any sense and it is racist.

Town fans having a pretty spectacular start to the season it seems.
