There was uncertainty regarding the clubs management that coincided with the running down of his contract. Evans was never going to make Knudsen sign at that point. Who would sign a contract under that uncertainty. By the time PL came in, Jonas had made up his mind. No fault of Jonas. No fault of PL and no Fault of ME. It was what it was.

It is very much the fault of Evans. He made an exception for Bart who Hurst and Doig then bullied whilst not wanting to sustain the contracts of Mick's biggest earners to save a few quid.

He might pretend it was to give Hurst the most flexibility possible but it's quite clear from how unbalanced he allowed us to become that's rubbish too.

It happens all the time. The Swans down here were offering new deals to players between managers this summer and last. I suspect you don’t have to look far to find other clubs doing the same.

An owner not dictating transfers can obviously be a good thing, but total reliance on the manager with no structure otherwise is obviously wasteful and ineffective. Especially so these days when managers change so often (and in our case the owner regularly picks poor managers).
