Labour really need to dump Corbyn ASAP.

Too many Labour members have swallowed the Kool Aid. It's more a cult than a party now.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Worth pointing out that the Green Party, UKIP and the Brexit Party were not given as options for this survey. Hence they poll lower with Kantar than other pollsters.

In a poll out last week on who would make the best temporary PM of a unity government Corbyn came way behind Ken Clarke and Hattie Harman and only 2 points ahead of Swindon and Lucas.

Kier Starmer would be a credible alternative to Corbyn.

Yeah it's so weird how so many Labour party members want an avowedly-left wing leader. What are they thinking!

Well he nearly won them the last election. I agree he's a knob if that's what youre saying but I dont agree that a) he is unelectable and b) the Members Spruce and others allude to are cultists for wanting a leader who bascially reflects most of the values of the Labour movement.

That’s like saying a team nearly won a game because they only lost 1-0 rather than the expected 5-0 drubbing.

As for being unelectable. He’s lost a general election, three rounds of council elections and the EU elections.

Indeed. A socialist leader of a socialist party. How odd. Perhaps instead of grumbling about Corbz, these pearl clutching disaffected types should just swallow the sh1t and vote Labour regardless, much like when we had to for the 'New Labour' project.

Just a thought.

The Labour movement isn't, and never has been, just the left though. It's always been a broader coalition.

And elections aren't normally won without appealing to the centre.

And I broadly agree with all that, although I would like you to show me some right wing Labour politicians. I just don't think their members are "Cultists".

He narrowly lost the Gen Elec, let's be fair, and it's pretty much a hung parliament where nothing can be done. Who cares about council elections really in the grand scheme of things? Labour run plenty of councils.

Attlee was a socialist. He was also one of the founding fathers of NATO, developed the UK’s nuclear deterrent and forged strong links with his natural allies in the west.

Corbyn's Problem with the wider electorate isn’t his socialism.

I think the problem the Maximum Leader has is he seems a lot less business friendly and big on higher personal taxes than say Blair or Brown, both of whom think the same as he does more or less about most of the issues the Labour Party are traditionally concerned with.

I think his socialism is exactly why he gets such bad press. It happened to Wilson, happened to Foot and now it's happening to Corbyn. The message is clear: follow in the Blair/Cameron mould or be forever 'unelectable' through the lens of the press.

I'm not saying he doesn't have his baggage, but it's exacerbated to such an extent by the press for obvious reason.

The left now is closely identified with pacifism and against patriotism. The kind of people you mention there - muscular left wing patriots who believe in defence & national borders - dont really exist much anymore at the high levels within the Labour Party.

EDIT; assuming you mean Attlee?

When 'business friendly' these days basically translates to simply lowering corporate tax rates even further and more deregulation I can well understand it. How did UK plc ever do business 30 or 40 years ago? How come companies didn't flee with such exorbitant taxation?

Spruce talks of people swallowing the Kool Aid, but I'm not sure we're talking about the same people.

Actually, I think too many have drunk the Kool Aid where Corbyn and genuine social democratic policies have become "dangerous" and "unelectable".

Which is objectively ridiculous, especially when you see where the supposedly non-dangerous and electable right aided and abetted by the centre have taken our society over the past decade or more.

Which issues do you think Corbyn's thinking is aligned with that of Brown let alone Blair?

Corbyn is part of a hard-left that is more concerned with anti-imperialism (but only Western imperialism) than anything else. And Corbyn's lack of electability comes down to far more than an anti-business stance (which wasn't that strong in the 2017 manifesto anyway).

I know the reason you post these polls is part of the narrative of undermining Corbyn at every turn... get it into people's heads that he's a loser and therefore not worth backing. A self-fulfilling prophecy.

Why don't you, you know, just for a change, talk about his policies? I wouldn't even mind if you slated them. At least you'd be engaging with them instead of this dirty underhand stuff all the time.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.
