Have to get mix of changes right! I would go

Holy
KVY Chambers Wilson Kenlock
Rowe Dozzell Skuse Georgiou
Norwood Jackson

Though i would be massively tempted to start at least one of judge or Huws...possibly even in place of Norwood. Too risky maybe from start not to have Norwood and chance to give him confidence and get in goals. Maybe Huws in for Skuse.

My thinking for dozzell is he would benefit from a run of games.

Agreed about Doz. Just needs a run of games.

I'd like to see Huws and Judge involved today, both 'should' be key players when they are 100% match fit.

This should be a perfect game for Dozzell to shine, as it’s probably one of the few games where he won’t get kicked off the park.

I’d also be tempted to start Judge behind Norwood and leave Jackson as an impact sub if we need it.

Would you say that 4-4-1-1 is a bit cautious against a team that’s conceded five in their last two games? It’s not fun to riff on the pain of a club in crisis...but speaking objectively, they may have to play the mascot on the left wing to make up numbers.

Norwood and Jackson up top, Judge to start cutting in from the wing to help him get back in his groove and Dozzell for game time. Rest Woolfenden to ensure the youngster doesn’t burn out when we’re perhaps less in need of him. Start the new right back from Colchester to ease him in.

PL has been saying all the right things about how we prepare for the game, and he’s exactly right. But he’s saying it because we’re widely expected to pump them 25-0.

Possibly too cautious but this is Ipswich that we’re talking about, so it fills me with dread that people think that we simply need to turn up to win this. My thinking was keeping KJ on the bench might give us the chance to give Norwood a breather if we get ahead in the game.

Anyone who rests / drops Wolf, Downes or Norwood needs their heads checked

Agreed. Let's not be complacent. Get 3 nil up then get the unproven in for their chance

Vincent-Young is inexperienced at this level - if we bring him in at right back having Wilson at centre back alongside Chambers would add a little of that and give Vincent-Young time to settle in.

Yeah let’s play Woolfenden every single minute of every single game so he burns out in his first season.

If they’re not expected to get a look in then this is a good game to give him a rest, he played on Tuesday and there’s not as much he can learn from this game.

Resting and dropping are opposite side of the spectrum but you are lumping them in together. Nobody is dropping them. Resting them is the opposite as they are crucial players for us and playing them for 50-60 games an expecting them to manage that load is just silly. We have a good squad now and its imperative we use it and keep everyone up to speed and fresh. Back end of the season is where that will really bare fruit.

Suggesting some players (particularly the young ones) should never be rested is actually the ridiculous comment.

There's only today and Shrewsbury and they'll get a two week rest.

I still reckon that over the course of the season, this game is a good candidate to give our youngsters a break. Although our choice of centre half - when they’re expected to be toilet - probably won’t be the decision that makes the match

we have no midweek game so unless anyone has a knock then play full tilt. Therefore try to get game won 1st then make changes if required

That's a reasonable point but that is one half of the coin. Essential to get real football game time legs of some.of the others. Only thing that changes is i might consider Skuse out over Downes but i think his experience (and having played a game less) makes that a tricky call. Id go with a rest for Downes. Its only a few changes.

No need to make wholesale changes, we have a week off until next game. Go with a strong starting XI,we can always rest players later in the game

Ideal game to rest Skuse although with Downes likely to be playing international football maybe rest Downes and put Skuse in.

Truly impaired.
