4th play 7th
5th play 6th

Winner of those ties (one off matches I believe, not two legs) play the teams who finished 2nd and 3rd. Think it works the same as other playoffs from there

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Second and third go straight to the semi-finals. The other four play quarter finals.

Quarter and semi finals are one leg at the ground of the highest placed club so 2nd and 3rd placed club get a home semi final.

Taking actual results into isolation, how would we have done in that scenario?

1987 Charlton-Lost in 90 mins
1997 Sheff Utd- Drew after 90 mins and aet ( who knows on pens?)
1998 Charlton- Lost in 90 mins
1999- Bolton- Won in 90 mins
2000- Bolton- Won aet
2004- West Ham- Lost in 90 mins
2005- West Ham- Lost in 90 mins

Pretty identical! However, we may have won promotion a year sooner.
