Bolton's "Overspending" 11:17 - Aug 27 with 1765 views | theinbetweener | Does this simply just go back to their EPL days, or also the years that followed? For me it's a strange one as I can't seem to remember Bolton being one of those teams that ever splashed millions upon millions on transfer fees. Presumably they were just very careless when offering salaries to the likes of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo etc... Even once they were relegated from the EPL, I don't recall them making big name signings in an attempt to go straight back up again? Maybe my memory's just shot to pieces though. If somebody could enlighten me more on their financial woes (As I'm sure it has more to do than just spending on playing staff), it would be appreciated.

Bolton's "Overspending" on 13:52 - Aug 27 with 1400 views | ElephantintheRoom | They were ludicrously overspending on player wages and a new ground. Shades of Ipswich Town. Strangley both chairmen saw themselves as the men to run the FA - and football - despite being utterly incompetent.

Bolton's "Overspending" on 14:30 - Aug 27 with 1312 views | PhilTWTD | Whether they overspent in that era or otherwise it's not really the issue at present, the debt the previous owner built up during that period were written off some years ago. It's the running of the club by Ken Anderson which has, wholly predictably, got them into this state. Worth remembering Ken A tried to involve himself in Town back in the day. Search for his name in the below. EGM Seals Evans Takeover 18th Dec 2007 00:48Marcus Evans's takeover of Town was formally ratified by the club's shareholders at Monday evening's EGM. The proposal for Evans to take a 87.5% stake in the club received the support of 98.4% of the club's shareholding. 0
