He got a lot of good press for some off field actions before he left didn't he?

Not sure some of his on-field actions have endeared quite so well to some since.

I remember a number of TWTDers saying how he could 'never be a centre back'!

Many on here thought last August was the best thing to happen to the club since Burley so I wouldn't use this forum as a benchmark for quality decision making.

Whilst he was always going to be a centre back I'm certainly in the camp of being very surprised as to how well he's done, but I'm very pleased for him.

As others have said, this time last year he was going nowhere but that Villa loan and his exceptional performances for them has projected his career incredibly in a relatively short space of time.

Good luck to him.

I think he was only going nowhere thanks to his injury shortly after joining Bournemouth and their ability to buy a replacement.

It was around the time of the first treading incident that i began to realise just how good he could become , always rated him but like most, i suspect,i did not think he would make it as an international but i'm glad he has made the squad and i would love him to establish himself in our national team .

When he first joined, I thought he could never play left back!

Always thought he would be more suited to CB.

The boy done good.

...said someone who thinks Blue Passports and No Foreigners Brexit is a clever idea...

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
