Just stood up and said his constituency marginally voted in favour of leaving. Since when was a 58-42 split marginal.

DId he really claim that as a marginal result? I've not been impressed by Mr Martin, but I might be prejudiced against him 'cos of the 'tache.

Constituency voted Leave, but elected a Labour MP by a wafer-thin margin? Don't you just love FPTP?

This will be a hotly fought seat in the next GE (not my constituency btw, I'm Suffolk Coastal)

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

He said that leave got approx 50%. A little over 50% but not much more.

I mean, by the current standards of dishonesty in parliament this is merely a slight exaggeration.

Given that Wrexiteers never accepted the 65/35 original vote, I'd certainly class anything less than 60/40 as marginal.

I think he is a decent overall, but probably elected above his expected level and was not remotely expected to beat Ben Gummer in last election - but of course a combination of Corbynmania and May making an absolute pigs ear of a campaign made a mockery of that.

Probably more so with the Brexit Party

The Tories are weak on the Northern Bypass with Coffey and Poulter shooting Tom Hunt in the foot repeatedly

We're probably a Brexit Party target seat

Corbyn said he’ll support a GE once tonight’s bill has Royal ascent. That could happen as early as Monday. So Boris brings back the vote again on Tuesday. GE on the 15th.

Those aren't constituency figures. Estimates for the constituency are closer, 56.5%.

That's borderline isn't it, but then again we're told time and again that 52-48 was an overwhelming majority so you can probably dry your eyes here.

I suspect the BXP think they can do well in Ipswich, but unless the Tories stand aside (which I can't see happening), the Brexit vote will be split and Labour will win again - if the BXP want as many hardish Brexit-supporting MPs in Parliament as possible after the next GE, it should be they who stand aside.

The BXP role will be to take votes from Labour and let the Tories in.
