I'm sure some people are still trying to pretend this is all part of Dom's masterplan as well.

Stanley is on the phone to Marion Miliband as we speak, asking how to deal with awkward family gatherings. Peggy Gallagher is his next call.

Good advice. Chuka Umunna was once in my wife's coffee shop after campaigning in the Scottish referendum. I was on the next table drinking coffee and got talking to him. He asked what I would recommend for lunch. I said anything but a Bacon Sandwich. In all seriousness though that is a fatal blow to Boris. How can he come back?

Couple of things: How in charge of the process is he? Does he genuinely believe he can win the election by pretending to be Nigel Farage?

They are trying to copy Trump, but don't think they realise that he is PM and not President and we have an opposition party who will hopefully do a better job of holding him to account Clear change of ploy from Labour other last few days - being very precise in questioning, making big play of fact that he nor JRM aren't asking questions. Big play being made of this supposed deal that clearly doesn't exist

How can he negotiate when the current EU position is that the withdrawal agreement is not up for renegotiation ?

The Irish Backstop is not up for negotiation in the absence of any alternative propositions, be that a closer customs/free trade relationship, special arrangements for NI alone, or some sort of real-world, working technological alternative. The UK Government is unable or unwilling to offer either of those, so the Backstop has to stay.

I don't think he's thought it through past proroguing parliament. He seems to have no back up plan. Did he think that Parliament would simply roll over I wonder? The startegy seems to be lash out at everybody and hope to get some blows in.

It was rather pathetic to hear a government helplessly pleading and trying to goad the opposition into allowing an election.

Depressingly enough, there's been, at times, a far more mature level of debate on HERE than there has been in parliament about Brexit.

Boris has always been a fake it until you make it type. Nobody is going to buy into the idea that he's made it this time round though.
