a) The Lib Dems realise they have no chance of winning Streatham or they have done a deal with Labour? b) The Conservative vote is expected to collapse in the constituency most likely to be monetarily and employment wise affected by Brexit, No Deal or otherwise, thus putting the Lib Dems in an ideal position to gain the seat? c) The Lib Dems are either desperate to find a home for Chuka or want to see him fail but not by too much?
I can understand why STreatham has lost faith in Chuka, gettign him out of their is a wise move and allows Labour to hold the seat in reality - plus puts a strong well known candidate in a clear target seat
Johnson is looking at an increasingly long list of candidates he has to find for the next General Election. Does he have enough people of sufficient calibre whose views align with the current position of the party?

He might if/when Widdecombe and farage feel they can join the ranks

Sufficient calibre???????
hahahahahahahahahaha
Just look at the current lot to see how low the calibre bar is, starting with the PM himself.
Farage has consistently failed to get elected (except as part of a PR list). What is it, seven elections? Widdecombe is possibly of better quality, having at least managed to sit in the Commons before.
They'd need to be put into safe seats (which is probably the price they'd demand for cooperation - that or a peerage for Nigel).

If I were in power the Lords would be the first thing I would change. It is straggering that we have an appointed second chamber, including hereditary members in a supposed democracy.
PR elected second chamber for me. Those Lords who were up for it could even stand on party lists.
He desperately, desperately wants to be Lord Farage. It's the establishment recognition he craves. Also saves him the awkwardness of having to get elected.

Maybe it was a predecessor of Farage who gave William Golding the idea for 'Lord of the Flies'?
(It wasn't, it was what he thought was the beastliness of his own children when he couldn't get them to go to bed)
Classic careerist politician - constituents are little more than votes to them and they have no loyalty to them, only themselves. He's too cowardly to face the music and his own electorate after all the rubbish he put Corbyn and co through, only to vote with Labour on all the same issues anyway.
A law should be written barring anyone who hasn't lived in a constituency for at least 5 years prior to the General Election being called from standing there, which will put a stop to these careerists and actually allow for local people to stand for their own local areas again instead of bussing in people from London to appease whatever leader is in power or whoever makes that particular parties A list.
As we've seen from everything they've done over the last 30 years, theres nothing A list, or good, about any of them. They are all awful humans and a shambles. They shout and mock each other from those benches all the while everything they create is an absolute and utter fk up.

Lib Dems already have a candidate in his old constituency. You want them booted out for him?

Indeed. Apparently the BBC think it appropriate to mention he was up against a former foreign office minister, but not to mention said former minister assaults women and was suspended for it (until Boris said no problem and dropped the investigation).

I wonder why Johnson wouldn't be that into investigating allegations of assault against a woman?
