so it can ‘tell’ when someone’s foot is a millimetre offside but not when a ref gets one or two free kick decisions wrong

I do like what Martin Tyler just said.
' you dont get prosecuted for going 51 in a 50'.
So if it's only your left foot offside....can they be a little more tolerant.
I dunno!

Well I think in that regard they need to accept that the tech isn’t absolute in its accuracy and build in a cricket type ‘umpires’ or is this case ‘refs’ call. Maybe have a broader line for the offside calls which gives a sensible discrepancy of six inches or something. Of course the other unacceptable scenario is when a goal gets disallowed for offside but then reinstated on review. You can have the situation where players play to a whistle as they should but are then told a goal is good. It just happens that in this game the two free kicks led to both goals and one at least was nothing like a free kick.

As they said after the Spurs offside yesterday, can they see exactly when the ball leaves the foot when the ball is played through? No...
