Food shortages with a no deal brexit 21:48 - Sep 24 with 1691 viewsrgp1

Wouldn't this be a good thing for the obesity epidemic? Just watching that Mr Kipling on Channel 5 at the moment, why pump out millions of cakes every week when undoubtedly loads of them probably get binned by supermarkets.

Well given the UK wastes around 10 million tonnes of food and drink every year a storage will simply mean less waste.

Yea i'm sure it will just be Mr Kipling cakes that we're short of and not fruits and vegetables from warmer European countries and Irish meat etc.

People will have to grow their own fruit and veg.

While were at it we should get rid of currency and develop a bartering system

Vegans will be first to suffer post Brexit as they are short of alternative options. We can always eat beef.or lamb

The problem with food shortages is that they detrimentally affect those with the least the most. Everything will be available, it’ll just cost in some instances a lot more. The great news for the multi-millionaires of Reece-Mogg’s ERG party is that their Fortnums deliveries will still contain all the goodies they desire. No food shortage for them and they will not be affected. Nor will they care.

I have freshly butchered horse meat for sale. Finest cuts. Only £15.99 per 10 grams in these times of shortage.

Probably very true! People were lot slimmer back when they had rationing and had to survive mostly of potatoes grown in the backyard.

Watching Channel 5 documentaries is the definition of losing at life. Did they manage to shoehorn the Nazis in? After all, Hitler loved a cheeky cake.

Because fortunately in this socialist environment we find ourselves in, we all have half and acre each.

Even those living in high rise blocks have massive window boxes; enough for several rows of veg and a few fruit trees.

While everyone has been contemplating Brexit, I have been stockpiling food. Cupboard and long shelf life stuff. Tinned hot dogs, beans, I purchased an extra freezer and filled that up too. I will eat like a king, get obese, while the rest of the country will be flapping around in Waitrose, fighting over the last loaf of bread.

That freezer won’t be much use when the power goes down. I’m hoarding weapons to fight off the zombies. If I don’t use them I can always sell them to a yank.
