Fastest Player Town have ever had on 20:37 - Sep 29 with 6027 views | Oldsmoker | I've always wondered who had the hardest shot. Some say Ted Phillips but I never saw him play. I saw Dalian Atkinson play and his shot was awseome.

When I was junior blues member back in the day I asked this question at a players Q&A at the time & the players (I can’t remember who was there) all said Amir Karic.

I'd say Uhlenbeek too. Haynes was also lightning quick. Alas, neither were the most technical of players! Mark Burchill is the one you're thinking of I think. [Post edited 29 Sep 2019 20:49]

Fastest Player Town have ever had on 20:58 - Sep 29 with 5881 views | PJH | Joe Broadfoot was pretty quick going down the right wing, sometimes had to slow down to wait for the ball to catch up! Kevin Beattie, along with all his other attributes, could also motor.

Fastest Player Town have ever had on 21:00 - Sep 29 with 5867 views | monty_radio | Joe Broadfoot perhaps. A right-winger back in the sixties in the side that secured promotion to the top tier ushering in the Robson era. Had the Ian Marshall trick of being a trudger when out of possession seeming tired and weary till the ball arrived. Actually, Jackson has a bit of that about him sometimes when a lung-bursting run comes to nothing - looks deeply pained within himself as if the whole game's up - till the next time the ball is there to be chased.

Fastest Player Town have ever had on 21:01 - Sep 29 with 5859 views | JamestownPrince | 4-4-2 Magazine had Chris Kiwomya as the second or actual quickest footballer if Im correct, 10.8 seconds for 100 metres.. Neil Thompsona lmost won the longest throw in. Glenn Pennyfather won the slowest turning time, but still smashed Douglas out the park Tyreece Simpson I believe was in the top 10 for under 19s 100 metres a year or so ago, sure hes broke 11 seconds in races a few times

Jason Scotland’s shots usually went at about 1000 miles per hour. Even if he was doing a tap in

I said Joe Brodfoot two minutes ago. He only started 4 games in 67/68 plus 2 subs, the bulk of his appearances(in two spells) were earlier.

Ted Phillips used to the thump the ball from anywhere from about 35 yards, heavier footballs then too. I have not seen anyone hit a ball harder since. [Post edited 29 Sep 2019 21:47]

Yes, I think he was proved to be over a short distance.
Fastest Player Town have ever had on 21:12 - Sep 29 with 5791 views | agentp | Would imagine that the club would have all the 60m times recorded somewhere. It would be quite important so perhaps Phil could find out. Even in rugby we would be regularly timed over 60m. I can remember going to Sandy Park at the end of my playing days and quite jealous as they have a full indoor 60m track under the main stand. It's a key fitness definer.
