Trains - Southend 08:20 - Oct 3 with 3344 viewsDamster

Looks like the Southend station near ground isn’t in use when we play due engineering works. What trains are people getting to and from Southend when we play. Central station looks a fair walk.

In and out of London and off at Prittlewell station, which is the closest to the ground.

Prittlewell not open that day.

Only Southend trains are the ones to Central, not Victoria.

From Southend Central a few minutes to East Coast bar (near Sainsbury's) have a few beers, then the walkway next to Sainsbury's brings you out near Southend Victoria, then just walk down Victoria Ave which leads to the Blue Boar (might be open for away fans?) Then your at the ground.

My parents live in Prittlewell, the station isn't closed, replacement bus is stopping at Prittlewell station, then you only have a 5 minutes walk to the ground. If you go into Southend then you have a 20-25 minutes walk to the ground, I have done this walk many a time, on a night out in Southend.

The Blue Boar is for home fans only. It's a 20-25 minutes walk from Southend Central.

Replacement bus takes an hour and a half from Shenfield. Yuk.

a fair walk is always made easier when you plan a few pit stops along the way ;)

Someone (not me) should organise a little bar crawl to keep everyone happy and prevent this same chat occurring twice a week for the rest of October

It's only 20 minutes, probably about 5 in a taxi.

I'm going to get the 9:33 Ipswich to Liverpool St service & hop on the 10:45 Liverpool St service to Southend Central (Arrive 11:41) just over ~20 min walk to get in the Railway pub by 12:00 seems an easy walk, the pubs close to the ground as well

How about catching the 9.47 train to Chelmsford arrives 10.21
Catch the X30 bus from Chelmsford bus station leaving at 10.40, arrives at Prittlewell 11.20 then you have a 5 minutes walk to the Railway.

Then after the game, catch the X30 leaving at 17.18 arriving at Chelmsford bus station at 6.05, then catch the 18.12 train to Ipswich which arrives at 19.07 this journey will save you a lot of money, time and having to walk 25 mins from Southend central and again after the match.

I imagine they’ve avoided that as it involves getting on a bus

There is no car parking available for visiting fans at the ground itself. There is Southend High School For Boys ( SS0 0RG) which also offers car parking for 5 pound ( the School entrance is on Prittlewell Road).

There's lots of parking in the streets around the ground.

I’ve paid £20 for my train ticket, so I’d be very interested to know how you’re getting a return to Chelmsford plus a bus from Chelmsford to Southend for £5?

20 minutes is not a long walk, especially when there are these things called pubs to stop in

When I went last time i parked at Portcullis car park, it's on the wrong side of the ground to Ipswich but it wasn't too long to get away from.
