Parkinson a step-up? 10:48 - Oct 17 with 1151 viewshampstead_blue

Not sure he's really an improvement.
What are they expecting?

I feel another year or two in L1 for them.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

I agree. A manager has to manage the expectations of the fans. He did a blinding job at Bolton when they were having difficulties with the previous owners - players not paid, transfer embargo etc. He kept the fans on board then so I think he's ideally suited.
As to whether he can motivate them to 2nd place is another thing.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

They need stability.

Parkinson is probably a good appointment for them right now.

I think there would have been a meltdown on this board if Town had gone for Parkinson. He looks like a typical lower league journeyman to me. Not surprised Sunderland fans aren't impressed.
