That's all I can hear Lambert say now and it's hardly a good comment to recall after what happened tonight.

I thought the line up was wrong and said so on here; our midfield still looked weak and we lacked width. To be fair we started the game well, with an early chance and it seemed like the cobwebs had been shaken off from the visit to Stanley.

The opening goal seemed to kill us. And after that we seemed pathetically clueless as to how to break Rotherham down. There was no variation of play, no attempt to change angels or stretch the defence, very little overlapping from the full backs after Edwards and Georgiou were introduced. We were a one dimensional long ball team, which was Rotherham's meat and drink.

Saturday is massive for both Southend and Ipswich, far bigger for the latter than it should be but the wheels seem to be falling off and we need to quickly put them back on again.

“And I’ve bounced back every time”.

Other than Rotherham at home in League 1

I'd be fine with two 2-0 reverses if we looked like we had a plan, were trying to execute it and didn't get the rub of the green.

To put it bluntly we haven't been at the races in either match and, if truth be told, it's only been slightly worse than some of the performances in other games this season where we've managed to take advantage of mistakes and hold on - despite errors - at the other end.

...and all those other failing teams he's managed.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
