Our 94/95 side was one of the worst in Premier League history BUT 09:49 - Oct 26 with 1577 views | patrickswell | to put what happened to Southampton into context, the heaviest home defeats that we suffered in 94-95 were 3-0 in the League Cup against Bolton and a trio of 3-1 losses to Blackburn (Sutton/Shearer era), Tottenham (Klinsmann/Sheringham/Anderson/Popescu/Barmby era) and Liverpool (Rush/Fowler/Barnes/McManaman). Their defeat must be the heaviest home defeat since the 1950s? [Post edited 26 Oct 2019 9:52]

Seem to remember Solksjaer getting 4, Southampton's next fixture is away to Man City - that could be really hard for a team short of confidence.

I’ve always said that one of the reasons I’ve stuck with this team over 30+ years has been its propensity to swing from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again within the same season. In the case of 94-95, we have on one hand 29 league defeats and 93 goals conceded set against that 3-2 win and a first ever win at Anfield. And they’re still better than Swindon 93-94, Sunderland 02-03/05-06, Derby 07-08 or Huddersfield last season.

Yes. The heaviest overall home defeat was Port Vale 0 Sheffield United 10, a Second Division fixture in 1892. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Totally agree, I was there and if I remember C Forrest was outside his area being booked and the ref allowed man u to take a quick free kick while talking to Forrest, absolutely ridiculous.
