It was my first trip to Southend on Saturday, I had heard the ground was looking in need of refurbishment - but I personally have not been to a worse ground (at professional level).
The half height concrete steps in each row were lethal, the toilet was nothing more than a brick channel in the floor and the home areas looked just as shabby.
The press box looked very cosy!
Can anyone better my vote for Roots Hall?

The worst I've ever been to is the Ricoh, I love grounds like Brentwood, Luton, Accrington, Fleetwood etc. The only new ground that I half like is MK Dons but I wouldn't swap it for any of the above [Post edited 28 Oct 2019 11:58]

Its hardly changed since the 60's- other than the south stand which used to be an open, oversized Spion Kop terrace. That was savagely reduced I can't remember when being replaced by the flats looming over that end of the ground. They then built that small covered stand there. Other than that, I don't think they've done a great deal else to it.
