(No subject) (n/t) on 16:28 - Nov 1 with 5916 views | hatch | Yes and staying with a mate in Manchester. Tied in with meetings during the day. Surprised to read on one of those ground guide sites that it’s meant to be one of the best away days. [Post edited 1 Nov 2019 16:30]

Who is going to Rochdale Tuesday? on 18:07 - Nov 1 with 5794 views | Freddies_Ears | Me! Overnight near Manchester Victoria. Rochdale was my 91st ground, Bury my 92nd. Grr. It is a very good away day, bars at the ground welcome away fans, Cemetery Hotel nearby with great beer, and a decent chip shop near the ground.Bit of a hike from town though.

The Cemetery is not what it used to be, but very handy for the ground. Real Ale enthusiasts should head for The Baum. It's a taxi to the ground but well worth a visit, one of the best pubs in Greater Manchester.

It's a short walk through the shopping centre. Follow the sign to the Pioneers Museum, to which it is attached. This is where the Cooperative Movement started. Worth a visit. The Baum is a great pub with food available.

Half and hour walk to ground again according to receptionist. Never been to ground although visited the Town when we played Bury many moons ago.

The Medicine Tap is more central. A short walk from the end of the Metrolink tram from central Manchester. Alternatively, catch the train from Manchester Victoria but you will miss the industrial scenery and mills of places like Oldham, Shaw, Crompton etc. The Tap is directly opposite the wonderful gothic Town Hall. Really impressive!
