Surely if there is only millimetres in it, then the fact a foot contacts with the ball for milliseconds when it is kicked means these decisions are not certain.
This is a good case for the football equivalent of "umpire's call" whereby the decision is only overturned if there is daylight between defender and striker.
And as i predicted ahead of the season, var for subjective decisions cannot work. |  |
