Leicester look bloody good, don't they? on 19:40 - Nov 9 with 1808 views | Hullblue | Yup - and slightly depressing that they’re not (historically at least) a bigger club than us. What’s gone right for them that didn’t go right for us? Luck and owners with a real plan I guess.

Leicester look bloody good, don't they? on 19:58 - Nov 9 with 1770 views | strikalite | You could see it in the eyes of the Leicester players before KO when they were lined up, camera switched to Arsenal players and there was such a difference, a hunger to want it, and they took that into the game, I noticed that..

Arsenal have been bottle jobs for about 15 years now, must be so infuriating to be a fan. Saw someone suggest Eddie Howe as their manager which isn't a bad shout. He wouldn't have had much experience managing a very international squad, but other than that, think it's a good fit.

Football has a short memory. In 2002/2003 they were in administration in div 1 but still got promoted. Similar to us then being in administration at that time. Being £50million in debt they required £5m rescue, which Gary Lineker, Emile Heskey and local businesses consortium all found. In fact the new stadium opened with them in administration and Birse Construction who had built the stadium therefore lost a large part of their fee and then exited stadium builds because of this dropping Coventrys plans. Leicester sold their stadium to an American firm before King Power bought it back. The King business invested 10s of millions in transfers and wages while in the championship, but to avoid fair pay rules, used a secondary firm Trestellar to sell naming rights to.. themselves the owners.. making £16m sponsorship. These large deals included Jamie Vardy and a few other players that in fact Ipswich attempted to sign under tight fisted Clegg but would go to Leicester. So theres a lot of cunning rule bending thats taken place to produce a near miracle, and some good team management of course too. Its all been written up. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/apr/11/leicester-city-finances-footbal [Post edited 9 Nov 2019 21:09]

Just having the money doesn’t always guarantee success of course. Team selection, the manager, tactics......all play a part to success, failure or mediocrity.
Leicester look bloody good, don't they? on 10:08 - Nov 10 with 1357 views | Ace_High1 | They have built a side and sign players on the way up, who they can develop and then sell for top money to re-invest. What I like is they have a plan/strategy and they execute it. They only sign players to address what they need unlike a lot of clubs now-a-days who just seem to sign people as they are available and then try to fit them in (see Arsenal and Man Utd as great examples).

In that case they need to enjoy these next few years, after that it is a slow and painful fall into the abyss.

Agree, hate to think how many players we've brought here in the last decade at least who have been proven not to be good enough elsewhere hence available...we've done that too many times going for experience over making the step up on sheer talent..

Stayed up most recently with the great escape followed by some shrewd purchasing which is ongoing. Maguire is an example of great business plus there are others sold. Looking at the signings they have been excellent and good value Tielamans was comparatively cheap and Mahrez was virtually nothing. Oh and yes Jamie Vardy.
