Couple of things missing from last night's debate 10:33 - Nov 20 with 802 viewsDarth_Koont

Agree with the Green Party that there should have been much more about Climate change. Not saying that Brexit and the NHS aren't important but here people have either chosen sides or all seem to agree that the NHS must be protected in some way.

Climate change and where we're heading is a fundamental question for a political party and one of the most urgent aspects in this election.

Child poverty is up there too. It's inexcusable to not do what we can now to protect children but it also creates massive future social and economic problems later as these children grow up. People talk about how Brexit will shrink the economy over the next 20 or so years but that's arguably worse with having millions of kids disadvantaged in their childhood when it comes to their future contribution to the economy and eventual cost to society. That's of course after the clear moral reasons why innocent children deserve more protection.

Climate change is not an issue for the tories - or labour. The conservatives ignore it because there is nothing the UK can do about it anyway - and Labour have most of the young vote - although 'most' is a relative term when so many cannot be bothered to vote.

Guardian-reading sandal wearers who think the UK can do anything about climate change by sending plastic to china as 'recycling' or buying an electrichobby car will probably vote Lib Dem or Green anyway.

Child poverty is very much on the labour agenda - along with adult poverty and homelessness - but again as the tories have created this mess - they are hardly likely to make it front page news - we have to get brexit done.

Climate change is completely irrelevant to our country other than defending ourselves from its' inevitable effects. There is no reversing or changing it. Absolutely agree about child protection.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

One of the problems with climate change is that the biggest polluters wear rose coloured specs. China and the US don't seem to care.

I agree that everyone else needs to set incredibly high standards and then collectively tap our fingers on the desk and give them a long hard glare.......

China listen to nobody and Trump is just beyond parody he's so stupid.

Hydrogen cars all the way.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

The Tories don't seem to care or be serious about climate change and Labour have hugely watered down their climate change policies to "aspirational" after pressure from the unions last week.

Rubbish from both.

The format could not allow for a reasoned debate / statement from either. One climate change question was asked, think both men had two minutes at most to answer.

Totally agree climate change and child poverty should be debated more; an interesting change in tactics by the climate change deniers is "doomism" on climate change and it seems to be gaining traction among those on the right.
