My step-dad is a former Lib Dem election candidate from the 70s/80s. I've joked with him for the last 25 years that the problem with the Lib Dems is not their policies it's their candidates (he would be a bloody awful politician).

As the only centrist party of the main three (Uk wide) parties it is natural that they will have the broadest appeal - but most people will not vote for them because they are not really fit to govern (something they sadly demonstrated between 2010-15).

That said, I will be wasting my vote by voting for them for the second time. I have never supported a particular party so I've typically voted in the moment:

- 97 Labour (just to get the Tories out)
- 01 Labour (because for that first term Blair was doing a cracking impression of a social democrat)
- 05 Lib Dems (couldn't vote for Howard after he saw the prison population double when Home Secretary, couldn't vote for Blair after Iraq)
- 10 Conservative (actually swallowed Cameron's rhetoric but was quite glad they went into the coalition)
- 15 Greens (couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the main parties)
- 17 Didn't register my overseas vote in time...

I think the problem with the LibDems (apart from them sh!tting the bed when they should have stuck with their principles in 2010) is that they're not really very cohesive in supplying a balance. You've got #Neverlabour and '#Nevertory types in there who really want to be Conservatives but with a heart or billionaire-friendly Labourites. If they were a party that stood for a genuine respect and balance betweeen socialism and capitalism, equality versus liberty then they would have a lot more votes. And be classed as left-wing by most of the media.

Centrism should be the way forward. But the LibDems need to lead the way and show a true centre in 2019 rather than assume it's the centre of gravity of what our media talks about.

97 Green
91 LD
90 Labour
42 Brexit
39 UKIP
33 Con

Did it on the minimum amount of questions asked, barely used the 'other choices' option and rushed through the 'how important is this to you?' bit so might do again a some point answering everything and doing it when I have a bit more time which might see a few of them slide up or down a few percentage points. Interesting nevertheless to see Lib Dems so high but I guess there's a disparity between what they stand for and how they come across/how much I trust them.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I did it earlier and can't remember the precise percentages, but similar to yours there.

But in order of:

Lib Dems
Green
Labour
Brexit [!]
Conservative
UKIP

I just did an "I side with" test on 00:42 - Nov 30 with 847 viewsCoastalblue

Lid Dem 93%
Green 91%
Labour 89%
Brexit 72% Seriously?
Conservative 58%
Ukip 48%

All seem a bit weirdly high

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

So the same order as me with a similar percentage.

I'm not sure how it works.

No one has posted which particular system/site they used so are these comparable?

I thought I'd completed it then another 100 odd questions were offered to me for a more tailored result but I didn't bother if I'm honest.

This is the site I came up with and used when I did a Google search:

https://uk.isidewith.com/political-quiz

Seems a bit American bolted on to our current election if you ask me but at least it didn't ask me try try 'Grammarly' free for 30 days. Although I am now getting a Levis wraparound ad on the TWTD home page and a Walmart sidebar here...

Apparently though if I was in the US I'd somehow be a Democrat.
