If you're still trying to work out who to vote for ... 17:53 - Dec 2 with 1082 viewsDarth_Koont

... here's a good trick.

1. Watch Channel 4 tonight at 10 as it explores child poverty
2. Think about how many children 4 million is (It's 1 in 3)
3. Vote for the local candidate who has the best chance of stopping another Tory MP

Job done.

Yeah, but it's only relative poverty, so that doesn't count or something.

In fact, it's such a meaningless term that the Tories had to redefine their target on reducing it. Hmm.

Adding to this...

You don't have to be a socialist or a commie to vote for Labour. There is no perfect voting choice. It will be easier to push Labour policies further to the "right" (or "centre" if you want to argue the toss) than it will be to prevent the Conservative Party from destroying the NHS and public infrastructure once and for all, and creating further social injustice.

Many things are disagreeable about elements in the Labour Party as it stands. Unfortunately the Conservatives are far worse.

I used one of those so-called food banks once. Put a whole week's worth of shopping in there, but when I came to collect it later they'd given it all away?

How about voting for a different party then that might hold the balance in a hung Parliament and would then be able to exert pressure on either party and tone down some of their more extreme polices.

Indeed. And on top of the sheer inhumanity towards children (FFS!) poverty just pushes further social, economic and health costs on down the line as they grow up.

It's brutal and callous to treat the most vulnerable in society like this but it's also not very calculating or "cost-effective" either. It's much more a sign of selfish, short-sighted incompetence.

I’ve made no secret of being a Centrist who has no real trust in any politicians have I? Given the choices this election I will most definitely vote LD

See step 3. This isn't party political at a constituency level.

But anything to stop a Tory government with a majority - and probably even as a minority government too given how austerity was pushed past/flagged through by the LibDems last time.

What have the LDs done this election to convince you? Seems an odd choice given their dreadful campaign. And what's more trustworthy about them than other politicians? Don't you remember them betraying their core vote in the coalition?

Unfortunately it’s not a case of what they’ve done, it’s a case of the policies of both the other main parties. Boris is a buffoon that will bankrupt the country with Brexit and in my view the nationalisation plans of Labour could end up the same way.
