Not to sound tinfoil helmet, but I think Brenner is much much better when his co commentator is excited and into the game. Mills can some times be a bit of a joy sponge, and Ambrose was upbeat and supportive all game. I seem to remember, and hopefully not making this up in my head, Ambrose once 'verbally poked' Brenner during a game when he disagreed with him. |  |

I think Brenners match day commentary is good, and don’t agree with the criticism.
Where he needs to improve is his questioning of Lambert, it’s all very rhetorical or leading.
I want him to ask more questions about the system and shape Town are playing, and what he expects the oppo to set-up. |  |

I've listened to a few other variations of match day commentary, some of which were the most boring thing I've ever listened to. On one I didn't even realise we had scored because the commentator's tone didn't change in the slightest.

Adding to that, it's not just appreciation of "good football" but what any good radio commentator does to describe the action. |  |
