Thats ridiculous- and disingenuously conflating 2 issues.

The majority of protestants are unionists and vice versa. That may be changing, but there is no sound reason to think that the overall balance has changed from what has been the position for many many years.

The vote share in the last general election also clearly shows votes for unionist parties exceeding those for republican ones.

NI is part of the UK. The UK is a nation. It is the uk vote which counts. Thats how it works...

Pointing out you atre wrong sparks is now ...........................ridiculous ?

Well here's some more rebuttal of your guff.

The Unionist parties polled 46%.

There is every reason to think the balance has changed as the figures I quoted were from the 2011 census and if the long term trend has continued then Protestants are now in the mimority in NI.

More so given "around 72%, excluding don't knows, would vote to remain over accepting Boris Johnson's Brexit withdrawal agreement." 0ct 2019

Northern Ireland is a country in it's own right, and so is entitled to see the actions other another country going against it's own wishes, which was the original point.

Neither does Wales or Scotland. The United Kingdom does though.

You are also forgetting the borders in territorial waters between England and the ROI.

Don't use facts with the local Labour Party on here, you will get Phil suspended from the Party for tolerating the far right on here.

Well- equally, taxes are being imposed on the folks of chelsea, by the unwashed hordes elsewhere. Thats what a democratic country is. All of it votes.

So how come the DUP could prop up the Tories, despite people not in NI not being able to vote for them?

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

Northern Ireland isn't part of GB.

If you give gb it’s proper and full name then yes it is!

We’re now down to splitting off the bits of the UK that voted to remain in order to win a referendum then? Bit like Nodge winning the second half.

It's relevant if Scotland will have indy ref 2 if Brexit goes through. Scotland would almost certainly back it.

Breaking up 300 years of union because Steve from Woking thinks 'wE ShUd JuST LEavE, HoW haRd Is IT?' seems foolhardy.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Great Britain is the island which contains England, Scotland and Wales. NI is on the island of Ireland. Together they make up the British Isles.

This bit...

"Essentially, Brexit has proved impossible to deliver: turns out it’s tricky for English voters to take back control of their borders when one of them is in someone else’s country."

The UK never lost control of its borders
In the 80's most of the coast guard stations were closed - for centuries it was possible to see from one Coast gard station to the next saving money changed that
After the 2010 election the Home Secretary decided to dramatically reduce the number of border guards + not counting those who were leaving the country.
Different thing

Frankie Boyle is a BBC suck off corporate sell-out!
Bending over and taking it....just to keep his job on a panel of left wing un-funny pathetic so- called 'comedy ' shows.
The bbc have conveniently forgot about his ridicule of the disabled.
Let's hope boris does get rid of the licence fee so this propaganda machine is shut down once and for all!

What the fook are you on about? This has nothing to do with the Tory propaganda machine that is the BBC. It's an article he's written in the Guardian.
