Tomorrow... election predictions 10:21 - Dec 11 with 1104 viewsPinewoodblue

Prompted by ABB’s excellent thread though we might want to make predictions on how things will go tomorrow. Not what we want to see but what we expect to happen., for better or worse.

Make up up of new HoC

Cons 340
Lab. 230
LD. 16
SNP. 43
Others 21.

Just predictions try and avoid ripping one out of anyone who’s prediction you don’t agree with

Edit. Hadn’t seen the YouGov predictions. I follow Electoral Calculus but thought I would predict before seeing their final figures.

No idea. All I know is I am looking forward to seeing certain people cry like the babies they are.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I don't think this will be too far wrong.

The 40 seats in Wales will be fascinating, very interested to see if Labour can hold 70% of them given their remain position and abysmal NHS record there.

I'd also say there's perhaps a 50/50 chance of the Brexit Party winning one seat, but that will be at the expense of the Conservatives taking it.

Is there an election on tomorrow? Nobody told me

I'm going for the karma prediction:

Tories just fail to get a majority and need DUP to form a government, but Foster won't agree unless Boris tears up his Brexit deal that splinters NI off from GB

Tories: 322
Labour: 252
LD: 18
SNP: 38
Others: 20

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

That is a tantalizing prediction. It will be fascinating to see where DUP go if it ends that way. I have a feeling Plaid would throw in with the Tories as wales is quite into brexit.

Really, "others" may well not be detailed enough come tomorrow. The DUP could well be in a massive pickle if some of these predictions hold.

I haven't really been following the poll forecasts, but yeah it would be rather amusing if the DUP had a massive wobble. The others I'll have a close eye on tomorrow/Friday are former cabinet ministers who've been targetted with tactical voters, like Raab.

Raab, Johnson, and Sajid are all seats I am going to be following closely. Sajid has seemed to be uncomfortable the last few months given him usually being quite composed, I get the feeling he feels every day backing Boris is a risk that he isn't fully comfortable with.

I think it will be closer than first thought and there will certainly be on or two high profile scalps - Swinson being one who doesn't seem to be mentioned at the moment.

And the question being begged, is what would the result be were the campaign to be for another week, as Johnson is failing/being exposed in massive way.

By next week they would be moving him from vehicle to building with a blanket over his head.

Really, I think the the UK breaking up is quite a plausible and justified step beyond brexit. I mean, you cant promote one and denounce people who want the other.

Poll: Who do you blame for our failure to progress?

0
Tomorrow... election predictions on 21:33 - Dec 11 with 636 viewslowhouseblue

to all intents and purposes back to where we started - only on the basis that to date our political system has maximised the level of farce and having the house of commons split just as it was when the election was called would be the most farcical outcome possible.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

No idea about actual figures but I predict some form of Conservative Government either with a small majority, in coalition or as a minority.

Therefore 5 more years (or until they agree to try again) of the same. The same impasse on Brexit. The same austerity. The same everything. All because of "but Corbyn".
