Imagine if PLs rotation policy turns out to be right... on 12:45 - Dec 23 with 1565 views | itfcjoe | I honestly don’t think the rotation of the players is a big issue, it’s the totally different style and formations that are causing us problems. I think people wouldn’t be worried of making 2-3 changes a game into a settled style

Yes, the formation is the problem. We seemed to be playing a defensive right side and attacking left side on Saturday. Couldn't work out whether it was 352 or 4231. This following a 433 last week and a 451 the week before, what a mess.

Imagine if PLs rotation policy turns out to be right... on 13:00 - Dec 23 with 1468 views | sotd78 | The problems both squad and formation. We don't know our number one keeper; we have midfielders playing right back and left back - because we either don't trust the specialist players for those slots or they are injured. We perm any four centre-halves into 442 or 352 and yet have no capable left-sided defender. We have forty eight midfield players (so it seems) and yet none can nail down a place. Our strikers are powder puff; require ball to feet or channels but centainly NEVER lumped up the middle. It's not even a dog's dinner - coz that at least would be edible.

This x100. Settled formation and system would allow and probably be enhanced with rotation/fresh legs. but when you have players coming every week, with no system/cohesion or settled style it just adds to the confusion.

I think that any future renaissance would enable us to eat lashings of Humble Pie.

Exactly. We look so far away from being a team sometimes. And I think the proof is in asking people what would be our best XI and in what positions. I'm sure there'd be all sorts of selections and formations as we're all basically guessing. Personally, I can only count Holy/Norris in goal (doesn't really matter who although Holy is our player so would push on with him), Woolfenden at CB, Garbutt somewhere on the left but not sure being at LB is all that useful, Downes at CM and Jackson as a wide attacker or one of a pair with licence to run out wide. Beyond that, I'm stumped. And while I'd welcome them back, I don't see exactly where Sears and Bishop fit in or will perhaps just cause more uncertainty.
