As PR seems to have become a graveyard for managers.

Perhaps given the number who have failed it might not all be down to them. We are told that Evans is 'pumping in £6m@ every year, to no avail it would appear.

Do all the club's above us run at this suppposed level of loss ? Do they have gates as high as us ? Have they received the same level of incoming transfer money the same as us ?

How are we getting it so wrong time after time ?

I'm just sick of our club making mistake after mistake after mistake.

Reality is when will ITFC hit rock bottom?

Concerned, big few months coming up, decisions have to be made correct this time or we could languish for a long period of time.

Your last sentence really resonates.

It's been one b011ocks up after the other.

As much as its it frowned upon to remark on that lot up the road, how many times have they stumbled on a formula that works, even when we think parity between the two clubs is being restored.

So, so fecking depressing. (Yes, yes, I know we are 4th blah blah blah)

Correct, think the original poster is probably indicating the same.

In answer to your question “How are we getting it so wrong time after time?”

The answer is “Marcus Evans”

i'm hugely grateful that he keeps us afloat - absolutely am.

but that's seemingly not enough when making awful managerial choices, albeit MM for that couple of seasons.

I've always taken solace that football is cyclical but I'm coming to terms with the fact we are just a badly run, disaster of a club. Luck is having nothing to do with it

But it was "luck" that we got the owner we did, and Man City & Leicester got the owners they did, at a time when we were roughly on a par with both of those clubs in terms of league positions.

"one man makes the calls at this club,"

Take the phone off him then

However it is down to Evans. The scum get the bloke from Huddersfield to them, a league below. We get Clegg then Milne. They recruit a team of ultra efficient German coaches etc. We get Harry Redknapp whispering in Evans ear. They get results, we get promises.

Preston and Millwall are a league above us. Have they wealthy owners or parachute payments ? Wycombe and Oxford Utd. Bankrupt Coventry. What do they have in common /

They don't have some disinterested fly by night like Evans in charge, that's what.

Has beens who have promotion on their cv from years ago. That seems to be the selection criteria.

At the start ME had enough money to make a difference and had he got his early decisions right I think we'd be in a very good position, either in the PL or in the Championship financially secure and well run, I guess not too dissimilar to what Norwich are at the mo. Perhaps even appealing to bigger money.

But he has got decision after decision wrong and now he can't afford to make us challenge at Championship level (and we'll see if even at L1 level soon) and no one is interested in taking the club off him.

Not quite. Keane had recently achieved promotion with Sunderland, Hurst was on an upward curve from the lower leagues. Every manager we have appointed has under achieved based on their previous record.

So what (or who) is the one permanent factor in all of this ?

Exactly. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti-Evans, he saved this club and keeps it afloat but seems unable to surround himself with good advisors (particularly in his early years).

Saved this club? Really? You're saying that we would have gone out of business without Evans? Like Bury? Sorry, I disagree. Selling to Evans saved damage to Sheepshanks’ portfolio and reputation. The deal worked perfectly for him. Nothing else and for me, I wish Evans had bought Southampton or whoever else he was interested in before being deemed not a ‘fit and proper person’
