Genuine and serious question. on 17:47 - Jan 4 by Swansea_Blue
Do you reckon? I'd hope not. We now he's not an adventurous chap be that'd be the equivalent of the mindset with Mick, but in a league lower and eqaully as likely to go the same way.
I genuinely think that’s the case.
A scenario like this.... 1 - Evans made it clear no major funds available 2 - Accepting promotion isn’t an easy grab 3 - Lambert saying he can make the club massive by using youth/no major signings/no major outlay 4 - But Lambert needs time 5 - Time more attractive to Evans than risky expenditure

I said this at work ... We are now a team scared of playing the likes of these teams ... I know teams raise their game against us & the so called " big teams" ... But surely our players & management staff must have pride & say things like " let's go out there & make a fooking statement to the league & other teams". I know one thing - THIS EFFING HURTS TO US FANS

We can only hope that the new deal was simply to try and stamp Lambert's authority on things. Perhaps it' little more than a slight pay increase and a set amount to pay him off?
Clutching at straws...
I think you are spot-on. There’s no way it is a five-year deal without there being a cheaper pay-off in the event of him being sacked. Smacks of the ‘eight-year’ deal Newcastle apparently gave Pardew, which was later proved to be nothing more than a rolling one-year contract. It’s all smoke and mirrors and has been since day one of Evans’ ownership.

Even the 'league 1 tour p!ss the league' divs were always going to turn when they smelled a chance of a lack of promotion. I thought the goodwill he racked up was way out of proportion with what it should have been in the first place and I think we've seen the voice of the doubters getting stronger and picking up waverers to a point where the majority view is now, if not bluntly anti-Lambert, certainly tipping that way.
I think you'll find the majority view is limited to a handful of people on here. It's easy to lose sight of perspective when looking at in in isolation through a TWTD lens. There's plenty on the fence but not very many anti-Lambert and rightly so at this point in time.
I'd be surprised if we don't take 9 points form the next 3 games or rather, i demand 9 points from the next three games.

You know that one of those 3 games is now away to Oxford?
