Harsh on a fair amount, but agree with a few.

A few listed have a low level football IQ - those in the squad with a good football brain can't expect to be able to play with some of these in the squad to a high standard to bring the best out of themselves and others.

Agree in principle. Skuse & Chambers used to be solid Championship performers but both are now ageing & in decline.
Most of Hurst's signings are no more than average 3rd tier players. That's why we were relegated last season.
Huws if back to top form should be capable of dominating the midfield at this level but he's been slow to recover his form. Still potentially more than good enough at this level or above even if he plays a deeper role e.g. instead of Skuse.
Judge can be an asset if played in his correct position, as we saw at Wycombe.

Disagree on Skuse, Wilson and Norwood. Possibly also Chambers. Huws is stll returning from a significant injury, but the jury is out.

of those i'd say:

Donacien - not good enough
Nolan - Good squad man. Lacks consistency.
Edwards - the odd performance but lightweight and not done enough.
Skuse - Important player. vastly underated. Coming towards end of career but one of best in L1.
Chambers - Still offers plenty for L1. Need to replace for next year.
Nsiala - not good enough
Judge - Awful start but improving. important player for 2nd half but need more.
Norwood - Good striker. Dipped after surgery. Needs service and will score goals.
Huws - not hit form post.injury. needs games. Would start playing more.
Wilson - not good enough for regular start.
Norris - plenty good enough for L1. would prefer Holy.

I don't agree on all those being not good enough, but the squad is massively overrated and has no divine right to win promotion like lots of people on here feel, which Lambert has said all along. The squad could win promotion, but it won't be easy.

Various members of the squad can't play consistently because of injuries (Huws, Bishop, Keane), others have either played well at League One level or poorly in the Championship (Jackson, Donacien, Rowe). Our star man scored 32 goals last year but before this season had played a handful of games at this level in his career. Nolan, Edwards and Nsiala were average to good players in this league previously. Promising youngsters like Downes and Woolfenden and a few other young ones who might or might not come good. Then you have the likes of Chambers, Skuse and Sears. Those are really the only ones with a 'right' to expect to be too good.

The same group of players, minus and plus a small few, came rock bottom of the Championship. No way should it walk League One.

I don't agree with the below...

Donacien - Backup for KVY, from my understanding he was doing well plugging the RB position. Happy for him to be backup for KVY.
Nolan - Have we played him in his best position consistently in a stable team? Still think there is a player in there...needs confidence
Edwards - Needs to be judged on his contributions out wide NOT on filling the RB position in an emergency!!
Skuse - Is Skuse, we know what he can and can't do, again has value in breaking down play and being the deep lying cm.
Chambers - See Skuse...been a loyal servant to the club but can't play in positions he is exposed to pace. Should be able to easily do a job in L1 in a settled backline.
Nsiala - Confidence is completely shot, needs to be taken out of the firing line and play U23s. Would be happy to see him leave if we can bring in another better CB.
Judge - Needs to played in a no. 10 role, thought he did well at Wycombe. Consistent run of games would show where he is at.
Norwood - Needs service to him in the box, and will get us goals regularly at this level.
Huws - Still on the come back trail, not ready to right him off yet...would prefer him getting game time over Skuse.
Wilson - signed from Lincoln and has done a job for us, no nonsense defender the kind I like. Aka lump the ball into row z if needs be.
Norris - Loan keeper, has played well but currently under pressure for decision making in the past 3 games and overall team instability.

So to summarise, I believe all bar one of the above players being able to contribute to the second half of the season. Bar perhaps Nsiala who clearly needs some down time to calm down and taken out of the spotlight.

Most critically it's up to PL to get the best out of these players and have a stable formation/team for them to play in with defined clear instructions on role. We have not had that to date...

It's not just about players because at this level, no-one has players who are really that much better. It's all about moulding what you have into an effective team. The derided Paul Hurst took an unfancied Shrewsbury team into 3rd place in this league a couple of years ago. Nolan & Nsiala played almost every game that season & no-one is now suggesting that they are outstanding players.
That's where Lambert has failed so far - he appears to have no plan to turn Town's squad into an effective team.

The club has needed a squad rebuild years ago and a small number of good core players to build around. McCarthy managed the one or two good loan signings that saved a season and a couple of handy signings too. The team performances have always been let down by non performers.
Hurst tried a quick fix but he was also compelled to losing Waghorn,Garner,McGoldrick etc

Evans can carry on pleading poverty but he has cashed in good players and has not replaced them. That is the bottom line. We got exactly what we paid for and once again we were saved by players like Garbutt and KVY to kick start this season. The performances sometimes did not match the good result we had on many days..

Still going out of cup competitions and the inevitable slump was just around the corner. Some League One club owners may look at that list of players and think that squad is good enough for League One. I guess most Ipswich supporters are feeling that list is not good enough for Ipswich. We are at least a Championship club in name, stature and history.

It is down to Evans and what he decides to put in to this club and how much he wants it. Some would note his ambitions does not match our expectation. If Lambert is just going to tread water through his new contract this club is in for another rough 5 years.

Every player you have listed is at least League 1 quality though.

Why are they not showing commitment or their true ability? It comes down to the coaching staff and manager.

Donacien has been fine when called upon this season. He's perfectly capable of being a League 1 right back. Nsiala, Edwards and Nolan were all top players at this level the season before last. I'm not sure it's the ability of individuals that is our main problem, we manage to be significantly weaker than the sum of our parts.

On average. With Mick, overall, we probably got a hell of a lot more. With, say, Keane or Hurst, the reverse...

No one has provided me with two teams in this league who they think have a better squad than ours.

I imagine it's because it doesn't exist.

Lambert is just poor and the players are underperforming under his reign.

The squad is more than good enough to get out of this league - compare it with those of Wycombe, and Rotherham, and other teams at the top.

That enough isn't being gotten out of it is a management issue, and is up to them to sort by getting rid of deadwood/bad apples, and picking a style that gets the best out of our best players.

Alan Judge played as a 10 against Wycombe, first time he's played that role in months, and with a little bit more luck could have had a brace. We need to get our best players in positions where they can affect the game, it's a simple game made much too complicated by Lambert this season.

Do you remember where Town came last season?

IF a team comes rock bottom at gets worse as the season progresses it tens to suggest it has a few poor players and is not very good

No everybody expects serial winners to emerge overnight - especially when the manager apparently doesn't know his best player in any position

Imagine being outside the top 6 - how bad would they be then?
