The reason wingers are so sought-after is because using them bypasses packed midfields and avoids having to mount frontal attacks on the strongest part of any defence. You have to work much harder to get through rather than running or passing your way around. I'm not sure that our midfield really has enough power and ability to make that work (especially if you get rid of Judge as well).
Plus being so narrow exposes our flanks to attack. And we know how vulnerable we have been to crosses in the last couple of seasons. |  |

I know everyone has decided that Edwards is sh1t now but are we going to get a better option in during this window if we let him go? As we aren't then we shouldn't, he a frustratingly inconsistent player who still created the best opportunities in the second half against Gillingham.
I'm not sure of the logic of letting Judge get confident enough to start contributing and then selling him either.

I would be up for the idea but it seems every winger we go for turns out to be useless. Unless his on loan and belongs to somebody else and even then we have a very mixed bag. | | | |

Judge never kicks on for me and the wages he will command may as well be used on other options if he continues to underachieve. I will say in his defence at times he has been played out of position but even when played in a “10” role he never seems to do much.
Edwards I have never rated, he has one good game in 10 and is nowhere near good enough a lot of the time. | | | |
