Rotation a good thing? 11:23 - Jan 12 with 671 viewsStockholmBlue

PL has been critiziced for his continued rotation policy. But perhaps he has seen the bigger picture all along and not focused on short time results. It is a long season, and it is what happens in may that counts. Maybe he thinks that Huws, Judge, Bishop, Keane, Sears etc are his prefered players that he sees as his first choice in the long run. But they have all been struggeling with bad injuries and some of them have not had a full pre-season etc. How would he give them a chance to improve if he didnt slowly but surely gave them playing time on the pitch? And at some point the cup games are not enough, he had to give them time in league games as well.

Maybe now that they (huws, judge, keane) seem to have successfully managed to overcome the difficulties of coming back and slowly coming back to the standard that they once had - we will see a ever more settled team over the season. While Bishop and Sears still need to be nursed into the team over the coming weeks/months.

I for one am very positive to what is to come, and believe we will have a very strong finish to the season. COYB.

This is essentially what he was saying at the start of the season, to be fair to him.

There was an article a while back where Chambers alluded to PL having divided the season into different phases. But he didn't elaborate much further.

Maybe we are passing from the, "lets try different things in different systems just to see what happens, and give everyone a bit of experience", and entering the "let's win games with the best team available now everyone is ready to play".

We can only hope PL had this plan all along.

This would be more relevant if his rotation was limited to getting injured players back, but that's not been the case. Seems to have been rotation for the sake of it.
